Teri La Pass Trek – Adventure into Mustang’s High Himalayas
Nord Extreme Himalaya offers an adventurous and challenging trek in the mustang district passing through the hidden kingdom of Nepal, Mustang remains among the most ancient in the Buddhist world (10th century). This is a newly opened popular route in the Annapurna Mustang region nearby the Tibet border and follows the trekking routes of Nar Phu valley trekking. It is called Teri La Pass Trek.
Jomsom is where this trekking route starts after a 25 minutes flights from Pokhara. Heading towards the upper Mustang region trail and finally crossing to Syange.

This trek has different alternative routes as a start and end point, Nepal dream path starts on this pass from Beshisahar to Jomsom. The trekking trails offers beautiful natural and cultural view along with tantalizing view of different snow covered peaks. As the trekking is in the restricted area in Nepal, where we need special permit which is quite expensive than other treks and given to only those agencies that have been listed in the TAAN. The high altitude trekking routes is almost covered by the snow throughout the year so September, October, April, May and June is the best season and time to trek in this route.

Nord Extreme Himalaya (P) LTD. regularly organizes trek to the Himalayan Kingdom of Mustang targeting TIJI festival a three days long ritual known as “The chasing of the Demons“, one of the most important festival of the region. Over the festive time monks dressed in elaborate costumes and masks perform dances and rituals that are supposed to drive away evil spirits. Dressed in their finery, people from all over Mustang gather in Lo Monthang to celebrate the Tiji festival.
Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m):
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where a representative from Nord Extreme Himalaya Pvt. Ltd will transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, attend a briefing on your upcoming trek. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel (B/B).
Day 2 – Kathmandu Sightseeing & Permit Preparation:
Explore Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Boudhanath Stupa. You can also purchase last-minute trekking essentials. Overnight at hotel (B/B).
Day 3 – Drive to to Koto (2,600 m, 2 hrs):
A short, easy trek to Koto, a large village with shops, a police station, a clinic, and a bank. Enjoy the first close views of Annapurna peaks. Overnight at lodge (Full Board).
Day 5 – Koto to Dharamsala (3,230 m):
A challenging day as you trek past a checkpost into the Nar-Phu valleys, crossing the Phu Khola river and hiking through forests and narrow canyons. Overnight at Dharamsala camp (Full Board).
Day 6 – Dharamsala to Nar Village (3,490 m, 8 hrs):
Climb along the valley to reach Nar Village, trekking through dramatic landscapes and high-altitude terrain. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 7 – Acclimatization in Nar Village:
Rest day to acclimatize and explore the village surroundings. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 8 – Nar to Yak Kharka & Lapse Khola Camp (4,500 m, 8 hrs):
Descend to the Lapse Khola valley, cross the river, and ascend to Yak Kharka pastures and camp at Lapse Khola. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 9 – Lapse Khola to High Camp (4,900 m, 5–6 hrs):
Follow the Lapse Khola trail, gaining altitude gradually and negotiating side valleys, before reaching High Camp. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 10 – High Camp, Cross Teri La (5,595 m) & descend to Pasphu Khola (4,750 m, 8–9 hrs):
Climb to Teri La pass with breathtaking Himalayan views and descend to camp beside Pasphu Khola. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 11 – Pasphu Khola to Yakpa (4,300 m, 6 hrs):
Descend with some uphill sections, passing tributaries, to reach Yakpa in the Upper Kali Gandaki Valley. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 12 – Yakpa to Tangge (3,750 m, 6 hrs):
Continue descending through Upper Mustang, arriving at Tangge Village. Experience the unique local culture. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 13 – Tangge to Yara Gaon (3,600 m, 5 hrs):
Trek down the Puyung Khola Valley to Yara Gaon. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 14 – Yara Gaon to Lo-Manthang (3,770 m, 5 hrs):
Cross the Kali Gandaki river and ascend gradually to the walled capital of Mustang, Lo-Manthang. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 15 – Lo-Manthang Exploration:
Spend the day exploring Lo-Manthang’s narrow alleyways, brightly painted houses, chortens, and local monasteries. Overnight at camp (Full Board).
Day 16 – Lo-Manthang Drive to Jomsom (2,800 m, 2 hrs):
Overnight at lodge (Full Board).
Day 17 – Flight Jomsom to Pokhara & Transfer to Kathmandu:
Take a scenic mountain flight past Annapurna (8,091 m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) to Pokhara. Transfer to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel (B/B).
Day 18 – Leisure Day in Kathmandu:
Relax, explore Thamel for last-minute shopping, or take optional excursions. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight at hotel (B/B).
Day 19 – Departure from Kathmandu:
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. This concludes your trek and adventure in Nepal.
