Additional information

This Luxury Upper Mustang Overland Journey travels through remote and high-altitude areas of Mustang, including Lo Manthang at approximately 3,840 m. While the journey is designed around comfortable overland travel and luxury accommodation, some walking and exploration takes place on uneven terrain and at high altitude.

Upper Mustang is a restricted region, so the required special permits and conservation permits must be arranged before entering the area. Travel must also follow the regulations applicable to the restricted region.

Weather and road conditions can change quickly in Mustang, particularly at higher elevations. The itinerary may therefore be adjusted when necessary to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

Advance booking is recommended, particularly during the spring and autumn peak seasons, when accommodation and transportation services in Upper Mustang have limited availability. Early booking also allows sufficient time to arrange the required permits and coordinate the complete overland journey.

Travelers should be prepared for significant changes in landscape and temperature, from the warmer lower Kali Gandaki Valley to the colder, dry and windswept highlands around Lo Manthang. Staying hydrated, traveling at a comfortable pace and allowing time for altitude adjustment are important.

This journey is ideal for travelers seeking a more exclusive and immersive way to discover Mustang, combining historic monasteries, ancient caves, traditional Tibetan-influenced villages and the extraordinary landscapes of the former Kingdom of Mustang with carefully selected accommodation and private overland travel.
